PhD courses offered at CAMP
The PhD education is mainly focused on independent research, but students are also expected to attend some courses.
The courses offered at the Technical University of Denmark covers not only the theoretical and experimental side of materials physics, but also the computational aspect, the connection to chemistry, biology etc.
You have an unique opportunity to attend other major universities in the area (e.g. the University of Copenhagen and/or Lund University in Sweden), and integrate their PhD courses in your studies.
The International Aspect
You will form your own international scientific network, when you meet visiting researchers at CAMD, or when you yourself attend conferences and summer/winter schools. Furthermore, you might wish to spend part of the 3 years at another univeristy.
The financial Aspect
CAMD finances some of the PhD students at CAMD, while others are financed by other means - e.g. DTU. At the moment the salary is DKK 228,000 per year plus an additional DKK 24,000 in pension savings. After taxes, this comes to a monthly income of approximately DKK 11,000.
The Social Aspect
The social life is an important aspect of studying at CAMD, and the students do a great job of helping and supporting each other. Regular social events include concerts, movies and parties.
